
We are looking for a
Marketing & Sales Intern to
start in January 2011.
Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Sales Manager, and the Rights & Special Sales Manager, the Marketing & Sales Intern will assist in the
promotion and selling of Lobster Press books in the Canadian and American
markets as well as overseas. Duties include online research, organizing
and execution of targeted mailings, sales tracking, event coordination and promotion, school & library marketing,
web marketing, and author & illustrator relations. The Marketing & Sales Intern
may also be asked maintain the Lobster Press blog and Twitter account, create content, and assist other departments as needed.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in publishing and/or children's
books, excellent networking and organization skills, an ability to focus
on multiple projects simultaneously, and enjoy brainstorming to help develop new avenues
of sales and promotion. General understanding of media and publishing
is a plus! This is a four month, unpaid internship position. Preferably,

We are looking for a
Production Intern to start in September 2010.
The ideal candidate has graphic design educational background, as well
as experience with Mac-based graphic software, QuarkXpress, Photoshop,
and Illustrator. Knowledge of printing processes a plus. Applicants should
be organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong communications skills.

are looking for an
Editorial Intern to start in January 2011.
Reporting to the Editor and Publisher, the Editorial Intern
will assist the editorial staff in the research and production of Lobster
Press books from manuscript acquisition to the final product. The Editorial
Intern may also be asked to assist other departments as needed.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organization
skills, an ability to manage several projects and deadlines simultaneously,
an eye for detail, and proven aptitude for proofreading and copy editing.
Understanding of the book production process a plus. This is a four month,
unpaid internship position. Preferably, candidates will work full-time
